Start with the Kombat tab on the main page or go directly to http://spyfu.com/kombat. Enter two domains (the third is unlocked for subscribers) and click “fight.” In this free version, there will be 3 options to select.

1. Click on the circle for domain #1’s first 5 keywords
2. Click on the circle for domain #2’s first 5 keywords
3. Click on the overlapped area of both domains to see their first 5 shared keywords.

Options #1 and #2 will open the exclusive list of keywords for that domain. So, if you compared lowes.com vs. homedepot.com, clicking the circle for Lowes lists the keywords that they use but Home Depot does not. Option #3 opens the list of keywords that both domains share.

When you compare two domains with a strong presence in your marketplace, this overlap shows you the keywords that they both considered valuable.

Now if you had a subscription, you could enter up to three domains at a time.

This option multiplies your abilities far beyond what you could do with the free version. Adding a third domain to your comparison gives you these new options:

1. Click on the overlapped area of domains 1 and 2, but not 3 (or similar combinations)
2. Click on the overlapped area of all 3 domains
3. Click on the circle for only domain 3 (or 2 or 1)

Of all of the SpyFu Kombat combinations available, these options create the most actionable way to view the keywords. How? They automatically fall into groups categorized by demand.

Case in point: If all 3 domains agree on a group of the same keywords (option #5 above), these are the strongest and most popular keywords in a niche. Add them to your lineup if you hope to compete in this niche.

If 2 domains agree on a group of the same keywords (option #4 above), and you are the odd domain out (domain #3)...

...this is a ready-made, filtered list that you can export to Adwords knowing that you don’t already use these terms.
